The Big Game

Tonight is the night that is anticipated by so many every year. Starkville vs. West Point. One of, if not the biggest rivalries in the state of Mississippi. This year is especially interesting since both teams come in undefeated, with Starkville coming off of a win against highly ranked Meridian and West Point coming off of a blowout win over Columbus.

Let me just say this. I love watching this game. I love high school football. To me it is good football at its purest, free from million dollar contracts and even full scholarships (which I also love college football to). I get giddy thinking about the game, and hopefully by around 9:30 or 10 p.m. tonight I will be bragging about how the Green Wave beat the Cocky Yellowjackets of Starkville. When it comes to football the two towns hate each other (in a loving way, though, ha ha). It should be a great game, especially if you love high school football as much as my family does. I've even gotten Leslie excited about Friday nights in the fall.

Have a great weekend, and Go Wave.

Here are articles from each town's newspaper about the game and a prediction from the clarion ledger.

West Point
Starkville
Clarion Ledger's Pick (I like this pick)
