I happened to catch a good bit of the Braves/Astros NLDS game last night. I had almost completely forgotten how much I love baseball until I saw what I saw in the third inning of that game. Atlanta had Andruw Jones on 2nd base with 1 out as 3 out of the next 4 batters that came to the plate were all rookies and they all batted right behind one another, Jeff Francoeur, Kelly Johnson, and Brian McCann. I wondered how it must have felt for them, being that I had always dreamed of playing major league baseball, to come up to the plate in their first ever playoff series only to face arguably one of the greates pitchers of all time in Roger Clemens. It made me nervous to think about it.
Francoeur came up to the plate (and by the way there were 46, 000+ fans at the game) to face Clemens only to walk to put two runners on for the next rookie up, Kelly Johnson, who proceeded to whiff to up the out count to two with two runners on. Then up comes 21 yr. old rookie #3, Brian McCann, the Braves starting catcher for the night, who had never had a postseason at-bat, and who was also 21 yrs. younger than the legend on the mound. I was waiting to see not if, but how Clemens would work his magic on the scared stiff rookie to get the third out and get out of the inning.
Working the count to 2-0 Clemens proceeds to throw a 93mph fast ball out over the plate and McCann smacks a three-run homerun to put the Braves up 3-1 over the series leading Astros. The Braves went on to win 7-1 and even up the series. It is one of the things that gives you goose bumps. We so often see the big stars, the veterans hit homerun after homerun and pass it off as just another hit. But the excitement on the faces of not only McCann, but of Francoeur, who as of now are probably just glad to be in the big leagues, was priceless and it brought back the love of the game for me. I just might have to catch the rest of this series.

We will be going to the game tonight here in West Point, might be kinda cold, but that means it will be just right for football. TAILGATING AT THE WARREN HOUSE! WHOOPI!

I thought I would leave you with a question today.
What is God doing in your life right now? Please leave a comment and share the things he is doing. I'll begin.
I believe he is opening up my eyes to show me where I need to be going, and how I need to be responding to him in my life. Although I am slow in responding right now I believe he is beginning new things for me, although I am not sure what yet (Funny how God works sometimes, Huh). He has put Leslie and I in a place where we have a chance to make a difference in people's lives and he blesses me everyday with so many different things, both big and small.
I have started, so now it's your turn.
Have a great weekend!

I feel that God is asking me to "expand" to "other" people and to "drop off" my "comfort zone"... this "change of worlds" called "college" has really "opened doors" for me as 2 how "i" can extend my "faith" and "testimony"... keep up da good "works"... "because" "i" "eat" my "own" "dandruff"

Thanks, Timmy & Wes. Good Stuff, and I'm sorry that I'm "Not the Norm", and that I am not "very hygenic", and I "leave cakes of deodorant under my arms" -- Ha Ha.
(Thought I better leave this note for all of you non-Chris Farley fans. Those quotes from me and Wes are from one of his Saturday Night Live skits)
