New Year, New Beginnings

Well, I guess one of my New Year's Resolutions should be to post a little more on here. So I guess I will try a little harder.

We had a great Christmas, and I think I got way too many gifts, but HEY, I'm not complaining, I just don't feel like I deserve them, that's all. Leslie got me another Playstation2, since my other is broken, so I now have my priorities all messed up thanks to that. She knows me too well. I also got a 20GB iPod (AWWWWESOME). I have been downloading the heck out of songs trying to fill that thing up. My brother got me a brand new Louisville Slugger baseball glove, I couldn't believe it. Now I am encouraged to work out a little harder now. Thanks, Bro! Other great gifts but I won't talk about all of them, because, after all, lest we forget, that's not what Christmas is/was all about.

Here's part of what it's all about. On Sunday morning (Christmas Day) we had a guy name T.J. decide to be baptized. WOW! what better day to be born again than on the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, what an awesome thing it was to see a new life, being transformed, and beginning the growth process. Welcome to the family T.J. Also on the following Tuesday another brother by the name of Fred, was baptized. Praise God once again. Two baptisms during a time in which we celebrate a Birth and New Beginnings. That's what it's all about right there. Seeing souls beginning to be transformed into the likeness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a great week it was.

During this new year, I want to get my priorities more in order. To be a better husband, a better youth minister, to finish the things I start (baseball, being one of them), to trust God to lead me places I may not want to go, but need to go, instead of trusting in myself to fulfill all my wants. It's hard to trust in God sometimes, especially when you have this pesky thing called pride in your way. I want to do what I want to do too often. I want to start doing what God wants me to do instead, even if I can't see it.

I may fall short of these things at times this year, but I will try my best no matter what. I hope some of you have made some resolutions, or maybe you haven't, and that's okay. I guess, if you really think about maybe we should let God make our resolutions for us. Maybe then we would actually accomplish them. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
