Is Christianity logical?

There are some things in this world that are very logical. You plant a flower, you water it, it grows. It's logical for a son/daughter to love their mother/father. so on and so forth. Many things about Christianity are very logical, and God often works in very logical and practical ways. But there are many things that seem illogical (well compared to how we think).

God works in mysterious ways. You've heard the phrase so often in your life, I'm sure. Well...IT'S TRUE!! But why is it so mysterious to us.

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. ––Isaiah 55:9

We can't understand all that God does because we cannot think on the same level as God thinks. God chooses to do things we don't understand because his ways are higher than our ways.

I think that's where it begins. We as humans were raised to look at a lot of things the same way. Love, Relationships, Family, etc. (of course with varying differences) We are raised to think logically about things. If so and so does this then therefore the natural effect takes place. How does that relate to Christianity. Well God's love goes many steps further than how most people are taught to love. "Love those nearest to you (Family). Love those who are nice to you, or share similar interests (Friends).
God's love seem illogical to many because he teaches us to "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Matt. 5:44

Jesus's love for us, in which he displayed by dying on the cross, seems illogical and even foolish to some. He died for people he did not even know. God continually called those who were the least likely to be leaders...TO BE LEADERS!! Ever heard of David.

My point in saying all of this (and boy this is the condensed version of what I was thinking) is that too often we try to think to logically about what God is able to do. We humanize God, by thinking he would only do certain things for us, whether it's because we think we're not worthy, or we think we should not ask so much of God, or whatever the case may be.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, –– Ephesians 3:20

God is able to do so much more than we think he can. Let's put God in his rightful place. To trust in him to do what seems illogical. To heal the person who has been sick for so long with an incurable disease, to save the person who has been immersed in sin his whole life, to revive the person who has fallen away yet wishes to come back again, to bring morality back into a country that seems to be falling further and further into the pit of immorality. When we think of what cannot be done, we lose hope. Being a Christian is all about hope. Faith is belief in what is unseen, yet we are taught as people to only trust what can be seen. The world thinks it irrational that for us, as Servants of God, to be leaders in this world is to be a follower. To be raised up we must be willing to lower ourselves to that of a servant.

It's time to think illogically, to step out of the box and trust in a God that is able to do more than we could ever ask orimagine.
