The Great Big Skate

We went skating last night with First Christian Church's Youth Group. It was a lot of fun and I hadn't skated in about 5 years. It took me a while to get in the groove but I finally did.

Do you ever feel like some things could only happen to you. Well, last night I felt like that. After getting into the groove, as I stated above, I was going pretty good around the rink, feeling good about myself and my rediscovered skating ability. Well, God obviously wasn't happen with me pride, because the next thing I know My left skate was going good but my right skate wheels were not even turning, so there I was, arms flailing everywhere like a bird flapping it's wings, wondering WHY THE HECK my wheels weren't turning. Well, I did manage to keep from falling, I guess that was something to be proud of, but as I look down at my right skate I saw that the reason the wheels weren't turning was because there weren't any on the front of my skate. I looked back and there they were laying in the middle of the rink still connected to the trucks that hold them on to the skate, or should I say supposedly hold them to the skate. I have to admit, it was pretty funny, and many tears were shed on my behalf. Glad I could entertain folks for a while. I did get some new skates and the rest of the evening went pretty well.

Except for Fifty Cent and Usher being played for the YOUTH GROUP everything went pretty well. They even played Stryper last night, How cool is that!

Here's a few pics from last night thanks to the publisher of jenskids.blogspot.com

John Taylor and Pam doing some sort of dance. Hokey Pokey maybe?

Mike doing a funky little dance, and no he's not doing the robot. HaHa!

Me, attempting to play limbo. How low can I not go!? Well, here's an example.
